This Weekends Riders briefing for Lychett.
Riders should be aware that a part of this track runs past a forest school camp. We have been informed that there will be a child's party being hosted at this forest camp between 12pm and 2pm. Access between the track and the camp is blocked by either natural overgrowth or by orange barrier fencing. Please can all riders be vigilant at this part of the track in case any child wanders from the group towards the track. If you see a child please use your bike to block the track and flag down other riders to stop. Notify the next passing Marshal to inform event control.
Parking
Please be ready to be directed to a parking space.
Refuelling must be done in the pits area. We recommend you have a suitable fire extinguisher in your vehicle.
Toilets
There are toilets at the venue, please continue to follow good hygiene protocol.
Event control
We will continue to use the signing on tent as event control.
Medical conditions
Anybody with any medical conditions that our first aid crew need to know about please go and speak to Dorset medical and bring him up to speed before riding.
Things to watch out for when riding at Lytchett.
Please keep your goggles on at all times there are lots of thorns and debris that could damage your eyes.
There are lots of huge ant hills that we have deliberately missed but there still may be one or two close to the track and they will throw you straight over the handlebars.
The matrix extreme section is only suitable for riders who are extremely good at getting over obstacles. Please note there are lots of hidden large holes in this sections, I would suggest walking the Matrix before riding it. The same applies to the extreme route which is a very very steep down hill followed by a very, very steep uphill climb!!
The extreme and Matrix sections are marked by large white signs.
These sections are easy to bypass look out for the green easy route signs and you will have a great day.
There are also places with skull and crossbones signs for hidden holes and steep down hills and these are also only for expert riders and easily bypassed
Sighting lap
Mike will lead the sighting lap,
No riding outside the Track
Riders can come on and off the track at any time of the session but there is absolutely no riding outside the track. Once you are off the track you need to push your bike, please return to your vans when not riding.
Flags and arrows
Track markings
Crossed arrows that is a warning sign look out for an obstacle or danger.
An orange arrow on either side of the track you need to ride between the two arrows.
Muc-Off tape marks the side of the track, sometimes there will be tape on both sides. Ride between both sides of the tape.
Some sections may have orange arrows on one side and track tape on the other side, so you ride between them.
Injured riders
If anybody comes across an injured rider please make sure you keep a good distance away from them and park your bike across the track diagonally so no one else can run them over. We would ask you verbally check they are okay and if they need first aid assistance send a rider on to the control desk to inform us a rider needs help. There will be plenty of riding marshals out on the track and they can look after the injured rider. If the rider has neck or spinal injuries, please do not move them.
Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday ,Mike.
